Technically, I was also forced to be productive today because I finally got a hold of the student's mom that I had collected clothes for. If you don't remember one of my student's family was the victim of an arson. They lost everything. I am truly blessed with amazing friends who offered to pitch in and donate some of their old
The picture does not do the amount of donations justice. My entire trunk was packed, as well as half of the back seat. I had this stuff since November, I believe. Her mom lost my number in the midst of moving and I gave my number to my mentor teacher to deliver, but he must have forgotten too. Anyway, my friend, who also interns at the school gave her my number and I was finally able to drop of the clothing.
By the way their house is adorable. They have fixed it up and it looks really nice. The mother was so excited because two of the pillows I gave them matched my student's room and she said she was going to love it! Her mother was so thankful and it made me so happy I could help them out.
Afterwards, I decided to take advantage of the fact that I got dressed and went to Kroger and picked up my friend, Katy, to make lunch. I found a recipes for Spinach and Feta Quesadillas and Cilantro Lime Chickpea Salad. I struggled real bad with these recipes. For some reason I always screw up when I cook with someone in the room. Anyway, they turned out all right seeing as I forgot to add the feta to the quesadillas and didn't have a food processor, accidentally added part of the quesadilla mixture to the salad, and forgot lime juice. Trial and error, I guess.
I also finished the book, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. This brings my February book list to 5, and it means I have 15 more books to read to complete my New Years Goal. I was really determined to finish the book in February (Thank you leap year!). I really want to watch the movie for Never Let Me Go. Unfortunately, it is not on instant Netflix so I have to find some other means of obtaining the film. You can watch the trailer below which will give you an idea on whether or not the book would be something you were interested in reading. I do recommend it though if you don't want to watch the trailer!
